Several weeks ago I was contacted by the Assistant Dean of Admissions for Chapman University School of Law. As a law student, I had helped her with some recruiting events, and she asked me if I was interested in doing some more this fall. She sent me the list and told me to mark whatever ones I was interested in. I marked several and sent it back to her.
It turns out that she booked me for all of the events that I chose, which means I will get to go to Chicago, New York, and Miami! The recruiting events are fun because you get to meet a ton of new people, both school representatives and prospective students.
Even though the school is not able to pay for my time, they are paying for the airfare, hotel, transportation, and a per diem. Plus we get to arrange our flights to maximize (or minimize) the amount of time we spend to the places we are sent. That being the case I will be able to do some of the touristy things in the places I visit, and see some friends as well!
The trips are scheduled for consecutive weekends in October, which means it is going to be a busy month, but it is going to be a lot of fun too. I will be sure to post about the trips after I take them.
Booking recruiting trips takes gumption!
