After 16 grueling but amazing months of working out, I
have passed my first HUGE milestone. I stepped on the scale yesterday and the first number
I read was NOT a 2, it was a 1. Yes,
that’s right … I finally broke the 200lb barrier and for the first time in my
adult life I am in the 100’s!!
Though I was fairly certain this morning before arriving
at the gym that I had lost some additional weight that just might pull me
under, I was still nervous as I stepped on the scale. The beautiful sight of 199.0 made me
practically jump for joy as a huge smile crept across my face. I of course grabbed my phone to take a
picture. (See Below).
Luckily Adam was in the gym, but he was with another
client. So I patiently (not really
patiently – I was staring at the clock and then looking at him and his client
willing them to finish) waited for Adam to finish up with his client. Then as soon as he was done I told him I
needed 5 seconds and walked him over to the scale. He watched me climb on and was stoked when he
saw the 1 appear as the first number. A
huge smile, a high five, and a congratulations and he was off to train someone
else while I ran intervals.
This day has been inching closer and closer, but I
thought it would never get here. This
has been an amazing journey so far and I cannot wait to hit the next milestone
(which is to have lost 100lbs total).
Thankfully I am only about 11 pounds away from this one, but it is
getting harder and harder to lose.
Making a big push for my birthday which is why I am currently detoxing (more
to come in a later post). Keep your
fingers crossed for me!
Say yes to passing milestones! :)
Most girls
would rather die than tell people their weight let alone post a picture
of the scale, but I know the work that went into achieving this number
and I am incredibly proud of it and determined to share it with the
world. But the best part is, it is just going to go down from here!
OMG!!! Congratulations, Girl! You have worked so hard and I am so proud of you :) You are a woman with an incredible amount of will and determination and a love for yourself and life.
ReplyDeleteYou have many gifts, Kasey.....but two of them that come so naturally to you are motivation and inspiration and I love that about you.
If I may share some words of wisdom:
"I believe many people fail, not because they lack intelligence and skill, but simply because they did not concentrate their energy on a central goal." ~Mary Kay Ash
I had to share this because it's one of my favorites and it make me think of you.
I salute you, Kasey! :)
Congratulations!!!
Laura
Kasey!
ReplyDeleteThis had to be one of the favorite moments of my weight loss journey as well! There's just something SO relieving about not seeing a "2" leading that number! I remember that when I crossed that line, I hadn't been in the 100's since maybe I was 13-14 years old? It only gets better!
I'm super proud of you! I know all the hard work and effort it can take to shed the pounds and here's hoping that your hundred pound milestone comes soon! That one is also a fuuuuuun one!!! :)
If you ever need a workout buddy, let me know! Also... I'm running my first marathon in October and my second half-marathon in January (Disneyland Tinkerbell Half). If you want a goal to work toward... consider signing up and running the Tinkerbell half with me! You'd have plenty of time to train and I'd be happy to help you out! Think about it... :)
Anyway, congrats again!!!!
