Annual Passholder!

I finally, finally went back to Disneyland a few weeks ago!  My friend and I went when I was down for a visit to Southern California.  It had been almost 2 years since I had been and I was super excited!

We got there around 10:30 and did California adventure first – Toy Story, the Ferris Wheel, Goofy’s Flight School, and Soaring.  We attempted to do the Little Mermaid ride, but unfortunately it broken down just as we got on.

On the broken down Little Mermaid ride ... not supposed to take pics apparently ... oh well!

Then we headed over to Disneyland where we ate lunch and then went on Small world.  We went shopping and watched part of the parade.  We got in line for Splash Mountain with our fast passes, but unfortunately that too had an issue.

Our plan was to stay to see World of Color, but we were so tried and it was so crowded, I knew we would not make it.  We decided to leave early, but that was ok because I decided to buy an annual pass!!

It feels so good to be an annual pass-holder again.  Say yes to fun, especially Disney fun!

Motivation Monday: My Miracle Worker

I have written a lot about my trainer and my journey with fitness on this blog.  It is something that is very important to me and as of late has taken up a great deal of time in my life. On this Motivation Monday, I have decided to showcase someone who truly motivates me everyday ...

Before meeting Adam, I really had no clue about fitness.  I generally had a good idea of what was good for me and what was bad for me, but beyond that I was at a loss.  While I cannot say that I am an expert at anything, I can say that I have learned a lot and I have come a long way.

I know exercises that work for me – what I like and what I don’t like.  I know how and when to challenge myself.  I can read my body and know when it is time to rest or take a break.  I have learned to be creative in my exercise regimen and to constantly switch things up.

I have experienced the endorphins that come with an amazing workout.  I have experienced the ecstasy that comes with continually hitting weight-loss goals.  But I have also experienced the frustration of plateaus and anxiety that comes with change.

Through it all, there has been one constant – my trainer.  He has pushed me and challenged me, supported me and encouraged me.  He continually gives me extra time in order to get through more sets, make sure I am stretched out, and go over new routines with me.

Recently I was faced with the possibility of having to leave my trainer (because of a possible long distance move).  For one reason or another, this did not happen.  While I am disappointed at what transpired with the moving opportunity, I am beyond thrilled that I get to keep Adam as a permanent fixture in my life.

If you have ever considered getting a trainer, I highly encourage it.  I have said it before and I will say it again, Adam changed my life and continues to do so every day.  Say yes to changing your life!

This is Adam ... now you can finally put a face with a name!

Motivation Monday: Cannot

People will tell you a lot of things.

Some people will encourage you, lift you up, support you.  They will be there to tell you that you can do it, that you will do it.

Then there are the people who want to knock you down.  They make light of your goals, they diminish your achievements.  But worst of all they tell you that "you can't."  While this could be defeating, it should be motivating because:
Say yes to doing what other people say you can't!!

Motivation Monday: Come Alive

I recently had a conversation with my health coach about what I should be doing with my life.  It was a pretty emotional discussion.  One thing she said to me that really hit home was that I needed to stop doing what made sense or what was "right" and start looking for what makes me come alive.  What lights the fire?  What causes the spark?  What makes you happy?

Say yes to coming alive, the world needs it, but more importantly, you need it!

Motivation Monday: Oh Wells or What Ifs

It is sometimes difficult to take a chance, do something out of your comfort zone, expand your horizons ... but if you don't, you are left with "what ifs".  What ifs are a terrible thing to be left with, they are the representation of missed opportunities and botched chances.  They are the difference between what you are and what you could have been.  But, in order to live a life without "what ifs," sometimes we have to collect a couple of "oh wells."

In the choice between "what if" and "oh well," it is time to say yes to "oh well" in order to say no to "what if"!
